ABOUT THE ARTIST
I was born in Germany, grew up in St. Germain-en-Laye, France, and moved to Asheville in 1979. I graduated from UNC-Asheville. I work full time as a secretary. But in my spare time ... I head out with my SLR digital camera and have a blast. From bugs to bears - they all are subjected to my incessant spying and clicking.
My background in photography started at age 7 when my Dad gave me a camera. He was raised around photography with his parents and grandfather being professional photographers. He always encouraged me to take photographs which we would develop and print in our own dark room.
With the technology of digital cameras, I realized I could take as many photographs without the added expense of printing them. After spending tons of money on upgrading computers, printers and camera gear - indeed, I can take numerous photos, experimenting with them in the field and on the computer.
I currently use a Nikon D70, and print on an Epson Stylus Photo 2200 using archival paper and ink.
My prints and note cards are available at the Screen Door, Woolworth Walk and The Garden Trellis at the North Carolina Arboretum, in Asheville, North Carolina.
